Main Regulations of Tuition Fee for Bachelor’s Degree

The method of calculating the annual tuition fee is set forth in the tuition fee definitions.

For students studying in two programs of study, in a double major track, standard hours for a degree are the attachment of the credit cap of hours to each of the programs.

Where the amount of studies requires a tuition fee of less than 50% of the annual tuition fee, a surcharge fee will be charged in addition to the tuition fee.

Students who obtained approval to study only courses they failed in the past and they are therefore studying less than 50%, will not be obliged to pay the surcharge (the department’s approval must be sent to the tuition fee unit).

Students who are soldiers in compulsory military service are entitled to an exemption from the surcharge. To implement the exemption, it is necessary to submit to the tuition fee unit a certificate on compulsory service.

Students studying concurrently for two degrees in Engineering and Physics will not be charged the surcharge, on condition that the annual tuition fee percentage in both degrees is greater than 50%.

Students in the final year of the standard years who are studying less than 50% of the tuition fee and were charged a surcharge in the clearance checklist will be checked as to whether they accrued the minimum tuition fee required in the degree and finished their studies in the standard hours, and the surcharge they were charged in the final year of the standard years will be canceled.

Students studying beyond the number of standard years are required to pay a prolonged studies charge.

Students studying law and any other study course and according to the instructions of the Faculty of Law they spread their studies over four years, will not be charged the prolonged studies charge in the fourth year (eighth semester).

Students studying concurrently for two degrees in Engineering and Physics will not be charged the prolonged studies charge in the fourth year of their studies in the Physics program.

Students who finished the “listening” obligations

Students who have finished the “listening” obligations, are not enrolled for courses and who paid the minimum tuition fee for the degree and are left only with a final paper to complete their academic obligations will be charged the prolonged studies charge. Students who are left with an examination in a course studied in the previous year will not be charged the prolonged studies charge for this examination.

Minimum tuition fee for degree

Students must supplement the minimum tuition fee for a degree, even if they finished in a shorter period of time. Calculation of the supplementary amount will be according to the tuition fee fee rate in their final year of studies.

Under the Student Rights Law, students may discontinue their studies for a bachelor’s degree (in all programs) for a period not exceeding two years of study, without this period being included in the number of years with respect to payment of the prolonged studies charge. Students must notify in writing of the discontinuation of their studies on the day they stopped studying. Non-enrollment for courses will not be deemed notification of discontinuation of studies.

The Law does not apply to anyone whose studies were terminated due to disciplinary offenses.

The Law does not apply to anyone who terminated their studies in one program of a double major track.

In any event, the student will have to supplement a minimum tuition fee as required to obtain a degree.

Exemption from payment of tuition fee for surplus hours for honor students

Students who commenced their studies in the 2016-2017 academic year and completed a full degree with honors (in a double / combined major – honors in both subjects) will be entitled to an exemption from the tuition fee up to 6 surplus hours from their bachelor’s degree studies. The surplus hours will be studied concurrently with any other course/s from the regular program. For the purpose of the credit, the student is required to apply to the tuition fee unit after completion of studies. In any event the student will be required to supplement a minimum tuition fee as required to obtain the degree.

Students who in the future receive an academic credit for these surplus hours in their studies for another bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree, will be charged a tuition fee for them.
