Top Five Projects: Biomedical Sciences Building
The Need
TAU is planning a dedicated, state-of-the-art building to build on – and expand – its exceptional achievements in biomedicine and to substantially upgrade and bolster its multidisciplinary biomedical research enterprise. The vitally needed Biomedical Sciences Building will significantly enhance biomedical R&D efforts at TAU by bringing together, under one roof, scientists from across the campus, affiliated hospitals, local biotech & pharma companies, and partnering international institutions. Offering amply sized labs together with dedicated office space, it will allow for a more flexible allocation of lab space for researchers than is currently available on campus.
Specs
- 13,000m² (140,000 sq. ft.) in total
- 8-10 floors
- 36 labs
- Entrance floor featuring a lobby, 345-seat auditorium, 100-seat seminar room & offices
- 2 Underground parking floors
Impact: A Game Changer for Israeli Biomedical R&D
The construction of the Biomedical Sciences Building will reinforce TAU’s exceptional track record in interdisciplinary research, creating synergy among pioneering TAU researchers, as well as colleagues from affiliated hospitals, biotech companies and partner institutions. Working together, their aim will be to deepen knowledge, strengthen emerging fields, and generate drugs and technologies to diagnose, treat and even cure some of the most devastating diseases afflicting humankind. The Building will thus help accelerate the pace of discovery and produce further breakthroughs to help ease suffering and save lives.
