General Information

Born in Australia in 1957 from French parents, I studied history (PhD), law (BA), semiotics (MA) and political sciences in Paris. I taught French for two years in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1980-2. I worked for ten years as a researcher at the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel in Paris, before joining Tel Aviv University in 1996. 
 

Research

My research interests: global history of television, theory of media genres, collective memory and media, representations of the public/audience, and coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Western media. I also wrote some historical documentaries for television.
