Eran is the head of the Industrial Engineering Department and an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tel Aviv University. He was a visiting Associate Professor at Cornell Tech, in New York, and a post-doctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University. My Ph.D. is from the Technion -- Israel Institute of Technology. Eran’s research group studies how human-computer interaction and machine learning can help people better manage their online experiences, privacy, and security online. The group is working on various projects that revolve around computational analysis of human behavior and applying this knowledge to enhance people’s online experience, safety, and productivity. The group’s projects are funded by the Israeli Science Foundation (ISF), Horizon 2020, DARPA, and the Israel Ministry of Science

Research Interests

My research group addresses challenges in the safety and well-being of people when they interact with digital technologies. The domains we work on include:

  • Usable privacy and security: identifying and providing solutions for online safety.
  • Human-AI interaction: Analyzing patterns of interactions between humans and Artificial Intelligence infused systems.
  • Privacy engineering: Developing and assessing new methods to build systems that respect people’s privacy.
  • Mobile computing and smart cities: understanding the potential of mobile computing to solve logistical and urban challenges.
