Main Regulations and Method of Calculating Tuition Fee

Language Studies

Advanced English 1

Students participating in the “Advanced 1” level English course during the academic year will pay for it separately, in addition to the regular tuition fee payments they are charged.

Students terminating their studies at the University and also registered for the English course are requested to also notify the Division of Foreign Languages of the termination of their studies.

Students notifying of the termination of their studies in a course during the first four weeks will be charged 50% of the cost of the course. Students notifying of the termination of their studies from the first day of the fifth week of the course will be charged the full tuition fee.

Advanced English 2

Students studying for a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree (not including special status students) will not be charged an additional payment for the Advanced English 2 course studied during Semester 1 and/or 2 (not including the summer studies season). The course shall not be taken into account for the cap of standard credit hours for a degree or for the number of study hours for which the student is actually enrolled (no tuition fee will be paid for them in Semester 1 or 2).

Language studies

Students studying for a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Arts shall not be charged any additional payment beyond the minimum tuition fee for the degree, for language courses (with the exception of English) which are part of the academic requirements for the degree. Such students only enrolled for language courses in the academic year will be charged an additional payment for these courses according to the fee rates specified below. Likewise, any students enrolled for language studies that are not part of the degree requirements will be charged an additional payment according to the following fee rates.

  • Charge for a foreign language from the 2016-2017 academic year - NIS 282 for one semesterial hour.

Students enrolled for a language course which is part of the degree requirements and who fail to fulfill the course assignments and/or failed the course and therefore the course became a part of the surplus courses, will be charged retroactively for the course according to the above fee rate.

A course which becomes an elective course will be charged according to the semester hour tuition fee percentage determined for the students as part of their studies, and subject to the tuition fee regulations for a bachelor’s degree / master’s degree.

For students who commenced their studies for a bachelor’s degree in the Humanities in the 2019-2020 academic year, the cap on studies includes the language courses. The charge for the language courses is therefore according to the semester hour percentage for a degree, because the language courses are part of the cap on studies in the degree.

Students in the Humanities who commenced their studies in the 2019-2020 academic year and who fail to fulfill the course assignments and/or failed the course, and therefore the course became part of the surplus courses, will be charged retroactively for the course according to the above fee rate.

Students in the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Arts who commenced studying language courses as part of the course requirements for a degree, as part of their supplementary studies, will be charged a tuition fee for the language studies as part of the supplementary studies, but anyone going on to master’s degree studies in the following year (in the same program) will be credited with the tuition fee paid for the language courses at the end of the first year of study.
