Since its inception, TAU has been Israel’s leader in environmental and biodiversity research. TAU collaborates with government agencies and NGOs to advance and disseminate knowledge, develop technologies, and train new generations of Israeli environmental change-makers.
Naming Opportunities
- National Zoological Center: Will modernize TAU’s research zoo, support innovative R&D, expand education & outreach, and reinforce efforts to conserve and reintroduce endangered birds and animals into the wild. There are many other smaller donor opportunities as well.
- School of Plant Sciences & Food Security: The school’s vision is to intensify collaborative R&D aimed at delivering novel products, approaches and technologies to help meet worldwide demand for sustainable agricultural practices, new food sources and a secure global food supply.
- Institute for Cereal Crops Improvement: A global leader in the field, the Institute plays a leading role in the search for more durable and adaptable wheat strains – with the mission to facilitate a more food-secure future.
- Center for Ecological Restoration at the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History: The Center is aimed at assisting the recovery of ecosystems that have been altered or destroyed by human activities, for example extensive natural habitats damaged by military operations in the North and South during the Iron Swords War.
- Citizens Science Center: A digital hub run by the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History to promote public participation in environmental research, with the aim of promoting biodiversity science and conservation in Israel.
- Food Security Initiatives: Diverse projects are in urgent need of support, including projects aimed at discovering solutions and technologies to safeguard plants and crops against climate change.
- Sub-Units at the Yehuda Naftali Botanic Garden: Facilities range from plots for specific types of plants, to whole zones / regions in the garden, such as the Water World, Mediterranean Region or Desert Habitat.
