A select group of American travelers enjoyed rare access to superstar professors, Israeli business leaders and top government officials during the American Friends of TAU's (AFTAU) "Discover TAU: Campus and Beyond" week-long tour at the end of October.

The tour participants learned from leading TAU professors and scholars while exploring a UNESCO World Heritage Site, viewing the Golan Heights by helicopter, visiting the unique bird migration facilities at the Hula valley, and going underground in the Old City of Jerusalem to explore the Western Wall Tunnels. The group also received exclusive briefings on Israel's social, economic and political situations from Prof. Daphna Barak-Erez, Israel's newest Supreme Court Justice and former Dean of the TAU law school, Mayor of Tel Aviv Ron Huldai, Member of Knesset Dr. Nachman Shai, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro.

In congratulating the group on its unique mission, Ambassador Shapiro told the participants that they were "seeing Israel through the eyes of one if its greatest and most dynamic institutions." Full AFTAU article
