Biography

Yifat is a research fellow at Fischer Center for Corporate Governance & Financial Regulation, and the academic manager of the center. She holds a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv University (2020); an LLM (with distinction) from University College London (2014); and an LLB (Law & International Relations, cum laude) from the Hebrew University (2010). Following the completion of her Ph.D., Yifat was a postdoctoral fellow at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics (2020) and postdoctoral fellow at the Sacher Institute (2021).

Yifat’s research revolves around both theoretical aspects of private law and the possible practical implications of legal theory and sees much value in taking a comparative perspective on these questions. Her research interests include fiduciary law, contract law, corporate law, and restitution of unjust enrichment. Her thesis, written under the supervision of Prof. Hanoch Dagan, focused on situations of divergence regarding the boundaries of fiduciary law. Her current research focuses on the interface between fiduciary law interpretation and corporate law policy, and more specifically, asks whether institutional investors such as pension funds, which currently own a huge percent of the equity of corporations worldwide, are legally permitted to take ESG consideration into account when making investments.

Research Interests
