Orly Fromer is Advisor to the President of Tel Aviv University (TAU) and Director of Academic Relations and Business Development in Asia. She is also the Executive Director of the China Israel Innovation Forum.
For more than two decades, Fromer has steadfastly advanced the University’s position as a global force for higher education. During her tenure, Tel Aviv University expanded its presence in China, Singapore and other Asian countries, establishing academic agreements with more than 30 top universities in the region and increasing opportunities for joint research and business development.
Fromer has built an infrastructure of innovation that stretches from the Middle East to the Far East and brings together academia, business, and government. She fosters entrepreneurship by connecting investors with early-stage University technologies and VC funds. Most recently, Fromer secured Asian investments in the newly-launched TAU Venture fund which will provide pre-seed financing to startups founded by students and alumni.
Fromer’s keen eye for identifying untapped markets led to the development of a successful and widely-replicated model of innovation-focused executive education programs for Chinese government officials and businesspeople. She was awarded a BA in History and Religion from New York University. She achieved the rank of Officer in the Israeli Air Force and later served as their spokesperson and director of media relations.
