Short Biography

Einat Peled is a Full Professor at the Bob Shapell School of Social Work at Tel Aviv University. Her research focuses on gendered aspects of social work and, in particular, on aspects of violence against women and girls, prostitution, trafficking and paying for sex, and mothering and fathering. Many of her studies center on understanding societal and professional responses to these social problems and involve in the development and evaluation of systematic and evidence-based interventions in these domains. The topics of her recent research projects include: Processes, motivations and meaning of men's payment for sex; Helping people in prostitution during the Corona crisis; Help-seeking of commercially sexually exploited youth; Developing a model for best reproductive healthcare women working in sex; and Predicting intervention with people addicted to psychoactive substances who pay or are getting payed for sex. She is a founder of The Israeli Association for the Study of Prostitution, Sex Work and Sex Trafficking.
