TAU researcher wins prestigious UNESCO-L'OREAL Prize
Tel Aviv University's Adit Naor has been awarded the UNESCO-L'OREAL Prize for 2013
Adit Naor of the Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology Department at Tel Aviv University's George S. Wise Facuolty of Life Sciences, has been chosen to receive the UNESCO-L'OREAL Prize for 2013. The award will help fund her research in the coming year. The Prize, a product of the partnership between The L'Oreal Group and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, is part of an initiative to promote women in science and has was awarded to three Israeli women last year, including Tel Aviv University's Osnat Zomer-Penn. This year the prize was also awarded to another Israeli scientist, Ben Gurion University's Natali Zeituni.
Adit Naor's research has to do with the study of toxoplasma parasites and their ability to infect any warm-blooded animal.
The award ceremony was attended by French Ambassador Christophe Bigot, Science, Technology and Space Minister Yaakov Peri and Nava Ravid, CEO of L’Oréal-Israel.
