New International Summer Program at School of Public Health

New annual summer program will offer advanced classes in epidemiology and preventative medicine

Tel Aviv University's School of Public Health will conduct its first Summer Institute of Advanced Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine program, from July 29th until August 10th.

 

The program will offer advanced courses on a variety of subjects, meant to enhance students' knowledge and skill of Epidemiology and Preventative Medicine. Classes will be taught by world renowned faculty from Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University and the Sackler Schools of Public Health and Medicine at Tel Aviv University. Participating Professors will include: Moyses Szklo, Jonathan Zennilman, and Sara Cosgrove (JHU); Leon Gordis (JHU & TAU); Joel Schwartz (HU); Dani Cohen, Tamy Shohat and Yehuda Carmeli (TAU).

 

TAU plans to offer this program annually. Classes will be open to and intended for: Masters of Public Health and Masters of Science in Epidemiology students, medical students and others with special interest in Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, physicians and nurses interested in developing advanced skills in Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine and qualified undergraduate students.

 

Each summer course will last one week and be comprised of 26 teaching hours. Students will be encouraged to attend up to two courses per week on topics such as Intermediate Methods in Epidemiology, Selected Topics in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology, Environmental Epidemiology and Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control.
