Maurice Levy, the man behind the creation of the world's largest advertising firm, Publicis, gave his insights into new approaches in marketing and communication in the digital age, using his experiences at Publicis as a concrete example. Arriving in the midst of a major merger of his company, Publicis Groupe, with advertising and marketing giant Omnicom, Mr. Levy was thrilled to attend the event in Israel "which is very dear to my heart."

Following Mr. Levy's talk, an expert panel of executives from the communication and advertising arena discussed how digital media has changed the nature of communications. The panel, moderated by Prof. Gadi Ariav of TAU's Recanati Business School, was made up of notable figures including Meir Brand, Managing Director of Google Israel, Greece and Sub-Saharan Africa; Ari Melamud, CEO of Publicis Israel; and Itzik Saig, Head of Marketing and CEO of Osem Group.

President of the University Prof. Joseph Klafter warmly greeted Mr. Levy: "Your perspective as a business leader is important as a source of insight into actual business processes. At the same time, we know that you like to consider how technology influences the way we think and act."

Prof. Klafter expressed the University's eagerness to work together with its close friend and supporter to develop the full potential of a true academia-business partnership.

The event was organized by the French Friends of TAU in collaboration with the Recanati Business School. Speaking on behalf of the French Friends, its president, Prof. François Heilbronn, expressed his great honor at "testifying to the deep, sincere and important links between Maurice Levy and the State of Israel and Tel Aviv University. Maurice is a true friend of the University, and over the last fifteen years he has been an honorary member of our committee and has visited the campus several times."
