Ecuador Friends Meet in Quito

Prof. (emer.) Zvi Laron of the Sackler Faculty of Medicine was recently in Quito, Ecuador, where he participated in an international medical symposium and held meetings with representatives of San Francisco University.  During his visit, Prof. Laron was guest of honor at an event hosted by Mrs. Ketty Grun, the new representative of the TAU Friends Association in Ecuador. Some 30 guests came to honor Prof. Laron, among them, the Israeli Ambassador to Ecuador Edwin Yabo and his wife, and the Consul Udi Avivi, and his wife, medicine professionals and leaders and representatives of the Jewish community. Prof. Laron is an acclaimed pediatric endocrinologist who identified a type of dwarfism that later became known as Laron Syndrome.
