700 young professionals attended an Innovation conference in Buenos Aires held by the Next Group of the Argentinean Friends

Dr. Giora Yaron, Chairman of the Executive Council of Tel Aviv University, opened the high-profile event with video greetings, followed by an overview of the infrastructure for innovation at TAU.   

 

Participants then heard from young, leading Latin American entrepreneurs and academics in a series of TED-style talks on topics ranging from the link between DNA and creativity, educating creative minds, and innovation as a driver for individual and organizational success. The speakers included Marcos Galperin, CEO and founder of MercadoLibre.com; Mariano De Beer, CEO of Microsoft (Brazil); Alex Szapiro, President of Amazon.com (Brazil) and former president of Apple (Brazil); Sergio Kaufman, President of Accenture Latin America; Alejandro Zuzenberg, Director General of Facebook South America; Prof. Diego Golombek, biologist and science writer; Melina Furman, science education specialist; Denise Abulafia, founder of Educatina platforms.com and Aulaya.com. The conference was moderated by Gerry Garbulsky, Curator of TEDxRíodelaPlata, TEDx representative in South America and professor at the World of Ideas.

The Next Group was established to engage the next generation of TAU friends in cultural and social activities.
