Argentinean Friends Look Toward Better Quality of Life
The Argentinean Friends of TAU held its fifth consecutive Life Sciences conference in Buenos Aires in November on the topic: "Toward a Better Quality of Life." The five day conference consisted of scientific seminars at the city's main academic centers.
Prof. Danny Chamovitz, Director of TAU's Manna Center for Plant Biosciences, was keynote speaker at this year's event. Prof. Chamovitz also teamed up with renowned Argentinean scientist Dr. Marcelo Yanovsky, Head of the Comparative Plant Genomics Laboratory at the Leloir Institute, at a lecture open to the general public to discuss the latest breakthroughs in the development of greater food crop yields and higher nutritional content of food.
The Life Sciences conference was established by the Argentinean Friends to showcase TAU's academic and scientific excellence, as well as to forge ties between TAU and leading Argentinean academic and scientific institutions.
