The Chicago dental community came out in numbers at a fundraising dinner in October organized by the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity and the American Friends of Tel Aviv University (AFTAU) to honor Dr. Laurie Gordon-Shaw and Dr. Fred Margolis.

Funds raised at the dinner will go towards the Alpha Omega-AFTAU joint initiative — the “Join Us!” campaign — to build the new Rothstein-Williamowsky Special Needs Clinic at TAU.   Recognized as “Pillars of the Community” for their leadership and service, Drs. Gordon-Shaw and Margolis will be honored with a Chicago pillar at the Maurice and Gabriela Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine.

Keynote speaker at the event, TAU President Prof. Joseph Klafter, thanked the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity for "backing TAU's dental school right from the start. Now, under the revitalization and expansion plan, the school can resume its prominent position in Israeli dental care and training. The new Rothstein-Williamowsky Post-Graduate Clinics will provide treatment to special needs groups, and will give graduate students experience in the latest techniques and guide them toward becoming compassionate and sensitive practitioners."
