Spring Semester Opening and Academic Updates - 12.04.26
Classes resume on campus from April 12 | Attendance not mandatory in first week | Exam schedule to be updated
12 April 2026
Dear students,
With the return to routine following the announcement of the ceasefire, the university is also resuming normal operations. We are aware that the rapid transition from emergency conditions back to academic study may be challenging, particularly given the continued uncertainty of the current situation.
Accordingly, as of today, we are announcing the resumption of classes and the opening of the Spring Semester on April 12, 2026, for the coming two weeks. The full schedule for the remainder of the semester will be published in the course of next week, and will, of course, remain subject to Home Front Command guidelines.
Studies
- Beginning Sunday, April 12, 2026, we will return to full in-person instruction on campus.
- Attendance – During the first week of the Spring Semester, attendance will not be mandatory. All classes will be recorded and made available, except for laboratory courses and practice-based courses.
- On Sunday, April 12, 2026, classes will also be streamed live via Zoom, so that students who are unable to attend in person may participate remotely.
- Accommodations for students serving in the reserves will continue in accordance with the established framework.
Examinations
- Fall Semester exams that were canceled will begin in some faculties as early as Friday, April 17. Faculties holding exams on that date will notify you today. The schedule for the remaining exams will be published in the course of next week. In all cases, you will receive 5–7 days’ advance notice.
- As noted in our previous letter, in addition to the two regular exam dates (mo'ed A and B), an additional date will be offered; however, students may take only two of the available dates.
- “Kelim Shluvim” exams - as previously announced to the relevant students prior to the Passover break, during the first week of the semester (on April 15–17, 2026), these exams will be held remotely. Detailed instructions will be provided by the “Kelim Shluvim” unit.
