In recognition of their immense contribution, Tel Aviv University is awarding scholarships of thousands of shekels to active reserve soldiers, alongside academic adjustments and personal support. This is another step in the University's ongoing commitment to stand by its student community.

TAU will award a 100% tuition scholarship for the current academic year to undergraduate and graduate students who have served more than 200 days in the reserves.

Additionally, new undergraduate students who have served fewer than 200 days in the reserves, but have completed a minimum of 45 days of service, will qualify for a partial scholarship.

"This financial benefit is part of the University's deep commitment to IDF reservists and to their academic success, and it is an acknowledgment of the academic and financial difficulties they face due to their reserve service,” the University’s leadership stated.

Since the outbreak of the war, Tel Aviv University has had the highest number of students called up for reserve duty among all Israeli academic institutions—over 8,000 students across all degree programs. The scholarships are designed to ease the transition for reserve soldiers from the battlefield back to their studies and to allow them to focus their time on academic success.

Since the war began, the University has distributed thousands of scholarships to reserve soldiers, totalling over 40 million shekels, which covered scholarships, rent assistance in dormitories, tutoring, psychological services, and more.
