TAU professor elected member of National Academy of Italy
Prof. Joshua Jortner has been elected a Foreign Member of the Accademia dei Lincei, the National Academy of Italy

Tel Aviv University's professor Joshua Jortner has been elected a Foreign Member of the Accademia dei Lincei, the National Academy of Italy. The Accademia dei Linceri is the oldest institution of its kind in the world, founded in 1603, and dedicated to understanding all natural sciences. Galileo Galilei became a member of the intitution in 1611, and even adopted the signature: Galileo Galilei Linceo, to express the honor bestowed on him.
Prof. Jortner founded the Tel Aviv University School of Chemistry in 1966, and was awarded the Israel Prize for Chemistry in 1982.
He is now one of 14 Fellows from around the world, and the only Israeli to ever become part of the National Academy of Italy.
