The 4th annual UCI/TAU workshop

Tel Aviv University hosted scientists, industrialists and entrepreneurs. The subject this year was: the Internet of Things.

By 2025, the world’s population is projected to exceed 8 billion. More than one in two people will live in urban areas, doubling the number of megacities with population over 20 million. During this time we will have more than 50 billion things connected to the internet. These things will consist of everything from light bulbs to wearable devices that monitor your health constantly. This connectivity will dramatically change the way we live, work, and play.

 

The 4th annual UCI/TAU workshop, organized by the Iby and Aladar Fleischman Faculty of Engineering took place at Tel Aviv University,. The subject of this year's workshop was the 'Internet of Things' and it aimed to examine the challenges in the field, the transformation of available technologies as well as the impact of interfaced technologies on innovation in the 2020s.   

 

This fourth international meeting hosted scientists, industrialists and entrepreneurs to exchange expert insights on issues related to the subject while exposing participants to state-of-the-art research in the field. The meeting strengthened existing partnerships and enable new international partnerships, as well as bi-national and multi-national research collaboration. The conference mainly focused on: Big Data and Visualization, Communications and Security, and Sensors and Systems. There was also an Industry Leadership Panel to lead the discussion on disruptive technologies.

 

Both UCI and Tel Aviv University excel in science and technology education, cover all fields and promote strong interdepartmental interaction. Both institutes believe that the mission of the faculty and staff members is to lecture, teach and educate the best possible scientists and engineers giving them also a common sense of social responsively.
