A delegation of French senators visited Tel Aviv University recently, familiarizing themselves with the pioneering energy-related and environmental research being conducted at TAU’s Iby and Aladar Fleischman Faculty of Engineering.

Dean of the Fleischman Faculty, Prof. Ehud Heyman, along with Vice Dean for Research, Prof. David Mendlovic, greeted the guests and expressed their hope that such visits will strengthen ties between scientific communities and academic institutions in both countries. With 3,000 students, the Fleischman Faculty is the largest faculty at TAU, enjoying close ties with industry and including schools in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and biomedical engineering.

The visiting senators heard firsthand about a number of pertinent research areas, including  water purification from Dr. Hadas Mamane, the rehabilitation of aquifers and treatment of mineral water salinity from Dr. Amir Paster, sea pollution from Dr. Yaron Toledo, and  solar energy from Prof. Avi Kribus.
