Bolstering the Humanities and Arts

Israeli Arts Center

The Humanities and the Arts are two vital disciplines that strengthen social discourse and encourage freedom of expression and democratic values. Graduates of TAU’s Faculties of Humanities and Arts are in high demand for prestigious jobs in a range of industries, including high tech, cyber and more.

To keep our students abreast of the latest developments in these fields, TAU has launched new and exciting programs aimed at stimulating the dialogue between classic humanities, science and business on the one hand, and restoring the relevance of the humanities to all disciplines on the other. A second aim is to attract outstanding students who will become Israel’s next economic, cultural and social change-makers. Finally, TAU aims to incorporate cutting-edge technologies into all fields within the humanities and arts, from film to education and archaeology.

Naming Opportunities

Israeli Arts Center and Building: Despite its large, vibrant, influential and often provocative arts scene, Israel does not have an academic arts center. Establishing such a Center will require the construction of a 6,000 square meter building for research, exhibition and educational space.

SOLD Jewish Civilization Center: This center will train scholars, teachers and educational leaders in all aspects of the evolution and dynamics of Judaism as a civilization. Its influence and adaptive character are extremely relevant to the social, political, economic and cultural changes occurring in the 21st century.

Center for the Study of Contemporary Jewry (formerly the Kantor Center): Will support high-level research on current Jewish topics, including the dissemination of data, cutting-edge analyses and combating antisemitism.

New Horizons: A program for training a new cadre of educators to shape Jewish pluralistic education in schools and diverse informal frameworks like community centers.

Institute for Israel and Zionism Studies: Against the backdrop of BDS and increasing antisemitism, this research institute will help negate fake news by generating objective, evidence- based knowledge, disseminating it to the world, and training a new generation of scholars to ensure the integrity of Israel and Zionism studies in the years to come.

Digital Media Production Fund AND/OR
Digital Media Lab:
Tel Aviv is the center both of Israeli filmmaking and high-tech. The digital media program is anticipated to replicate the natural bridge between Hollywood and Silicon Valley, preparing graduates to take leadership positions in the new world of digital interactive platforms across a number of industries.
