For the past three months, Yarin has been serving in a front-line unit in Gaza.

“When I received the call to serve I was happy at the opportunity to contribute to my country during these challenging times,” she says. “One of the most difficult moments has been the loss of a fellow soldier during a battle in Gaza. Since October 7th we’ve been hearing about many soldiers who have lost their lives in the battles, but it’s even tougher when you know them personally.”

Yarin hopes to resume her studies at the end of the war and fulfill her dream of becoming an engineer.
