Meet Alberto

Just one week before Oct. 7, Alberto proposed marriage to his girlfriend on vacation in Italy. Imagine the shock to go from romantic happiness to battlefield readiness. Alberto was quickly called up to the North where he served for two and a half months protecting the Israel-Lebanon-Syrian border.

“It was and remains an emotional time – so many of my friends in Golani have been killed, and the loss is difficult.”

Known to his friends as “Beto,” he made Aliyah with his family from Sao Paulo, Brazil, when he was 10 years old. Beto is now beginning his first year of university studies and, intending to continue the family tradition of working in finance, dreams of becoming a hedge fund manager.
