TAU dominates Teva neuroscience grants
Tel Aviv University has received almost as many grants from Teva's "National Network of Excellence" program as other Israeli universities combined.
Researchers and students at TAU's Sagol School of Neuroscience won the lion's share of project funding and doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships awarded by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries under its newly launched "National Network of Excellence". The program was established to help combat Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis and other neurodegenerative diseases, and is a collaboration between Teva and Israeli academics from a variety of institutions.
In the first round of funding, aimed at encouraging active collaboration between universities, hospitals and industry, TAU won 21 grants while Israel's other six research universities, including the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Ben Gurion University of the Negev, the Techion and others, won 25 grants combined.
