Russian Friends of Tel Aviv University
The Russian Friends Association was established in 2014 with the purpose of promoting Tel Aviv University in Russia.
The Association's mission is to support the achievements of Tel Aviv University through a variety of cultural, social and educational activities. These include student exchange programs, conferences and symposia, promotion of cooperation agreements and academic ties between Tel Aviv University and Russian institutions of higher learning, and publication of the University's research innovations in the Russian media.
President: Mr. Viktor Vekselberg
Mr. Vekselberg has been appointed founding President of the Russian Friends. A philanthropist and businessman with interests in technology, chemicals, utilities and telecom, Mr. Vekselberg is President of the Skolkovo Foundation, which is responsible for the science and technological center that develops and commercializes advanced technologies.
