I received my PhD degree at UCLA. After a year of Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, I joined the Department of Linguistics at Tel Aviv University in 1982. My major areas of research are the theory of syntax, comparative syntax, the syntax of Hungarian, and the lexicon-syntax interface. I served as Chair of the Linguistics Department for eight years (1993-1997 and 1999-2003). Currently I am Professor of Linguistics, and serve as Graduate Studies advisor of the department
