Support TAU’s COVID-19 Emergency Scholarship Fund
The coronavirus crisis has hit the Tel Aviv University student body hard.
With increasing spikes in COVID-19 infections and the Israeli economy in dire crisis, thousands of students have lost the jobs that kept them financially afloat. Without income to cover their rent, tuition and living expenses, hundreds of students are at risk of dropping out of their studies altogether.
More than 2,200 TAU students received emergency aid in the spring of 2020 through our COVID-19 Emergency Scholarship Fund; thanks to you, we were able to respond in a timely manner and help them save the semester. Another 1,400 students have applied for aid in 2020-2021, many of whom will not be able to complete the year without immediate financial help.
One such student is Melisa Poiron. Melisa, a second-year undergraduate at the Buchmann Faculty of Law, describes her plight in this clip to support herself and her sick mother. "Without a scholarship, the door to continuing my degree will be closed. Many students like me fear their dreams, careers and futures are at risk."
Here at TAU, we are doing everything we can to ensure that Melisa and every needy TAU student can continue studying with financial peace of mind. For this purpose, we’ve launched the COVID-19 Emergency Scholarship Fund, which will distribute emergency aid of up to $4,000 directly to each of our neediest students.
Your generosity will not only ensure that students complete the academic year, but will keep them firmly on a life trajectory of academic and professional success.
It’s your turn: Help Israel’s brightest students pursue their big ideas, despite COVID-19. Support TAU’s COVID-19 Emergency Scholarship Fund – Donate now.
