TAU placed 26th in world ranking of green universities

Thanks to the new Porter School of Environmental Studies Building, Tel Aviv University has been awarded the respectable 26th place out of 301 campuses in 61 countries worldwide, in the GreenMertric World University Ranking, issued annually by the University of Indonesia. A separate GreenMetric rating ranked Tel Aviv University 13th of 164 urban campuses.   

 

Providing an environmental profile of participating campuses, the GreenMetric ranking is designed to enhance universities' commitment to green practices and policies such as: reducing carbon emissions, energy and water efficiency, sustainable transportation, recycling and more.

 

The new Porter Building will open its gates in a few months. The innovative structure, incorporating some of the world's most advanced green technologies, is Tel Aviv University's very first green building, and the first in Israel designed to meet the highest standards for green building in both the US and Israel - LEED Platinum and Diamond standard #5281 respectively.
